Each week, your financial offering to St. John goes both around the neighborhood and around the globe.

 

 

Global Impact

St. John is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Western North Dakota Synod.
10% of each offering (a tithe) becomes mission support to our synod.

 

This support helps:

• Raise up leaders for the church

• Fund global missionaries

• Support a small synod staff that accompanies congregations like ours through pastoral transition

Local Impact

• 1.5% of your offering is passed directly to St. Luke’s Home. St. John is a charter member of St. Luke’s Home along with many area congregations.
• Your offering provides monthly care for beloved elders.
• Another 1.5% supports Badlands Ministries, your nearest Bible camp and a sacred place for generations of faith formation.

 

 

Living in Service to Christ

The remaining 87% of your contribution furthers the mission of St. John in these ways:

 

Worship

A worship space needs only two pieces of furniture — the Baptismal Font and the Holy Communion Table.
We celebrate the same meal at all services each week, though music and liturgy vary to reflect diverse worship styles.

 

Outreach

St. John’s building serves the Lord by hosting community groups.
Funds from weekly offerings also support the Western North Dakota Synod, St. Luke’s Home, and Badlands Ministries.

 

Community Life

Becoming part of a church connects us with other human beings.
As one body made of many members and abilities, we rejoice together and comfort one another.
We share more than a name — we share a deep need for belonging, hope, and community.

 

Faith Formation

At St. John, learning is a gift for all ages.

• Wednesdays: Classroom learning connects with worship through liturgy, sermon, and Bible lesson.

• Sundays: Education focuses on Scripture and Lutheran theology.

Stewardship

Money is a sensitive topic. It can feel like something that binds us, leaving us thinking we never have enough. But it doesn’t have to be that way — money can be freeing. It depends on the lifestyle we choose:

• Living above our means leads to stress, debt, and the sense of never having enough.

• Living within our means frees us from debt and financial worry, offering balance.

• Living beneath our means brings not just freedom, but abundance.
  It allows us to give freely, recognizing what we truly need and joyfully sharing the rest.
  This is the heart of stewardship: understanding we don’t own our money or possessions, but are entrusted with them by God to serve others.
