A church built on the authority of Scripture, and nothing else.
MC3 is part of the Restoration Movement — a return to the New Testament Church, free from creeds and denominations. We are an evangelical, Bible-believing church. Not the only Christians, but Christians only.
What We Believe
- The Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
- The absolute deity of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2:5-7, John 14:9, John 8:57-58, John 1:1)
- The Virgin birth of Christ. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:22-25)
- The Historical “Fall of Man.” (Genesis 3)
- The sinful nature of man. (Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 3:23)
- The bodily resurrection of Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
- The literal return of Christ. (John 14:1-8, 2 Peter 3:3-13)
- The resurrection and assignment of all people to heaven or hell. (Revelation 20:11-15, John 5:28-30)
- The Substitutionary death of Christ on the cross. (Isaiah 53:5-6, 1 Peter 2:24-25)
- The abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in all believers. (Romans 8:9-11, Ephesians 1:13-14)
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the leader of the church, and the source of eternal life. (Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 17:5, Mark 1:11, John 1:14, Ephesians 1:22, Colossians 1:18, John 3:16, 1 John 2:24-25)
- The triune Godhead of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Revelation 1:12-18,
John 16:7-11) - The Church must reflect God’s love for one another and lost people. (1 John 4:7-12, Luke 15:11-32)
OUR BELIEFS
How Salvation Works
There is no way to make it to heaven on our own. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 God offers forgiveness as a free gift; we receive it through four movements.
1/4
Belief
Believing the truth about Jesus, relying upon Christ to save us, and trusting Him with our lives.
Romans 10:9-10,
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
2/4
Repentance
Sorrow for sin, willingness to change, to turn from sin and live an obedient life in Christ.
Jeremiah 2:13, Acts 2:38,
1 Thessalonians 1:9
3/4
Confession
Acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior of our life.
Publicly declaring our faith in Him before others.
Matthew 10:32–33
4/4
Baptism
Becoming a disciple of Jesus includes a willingness to be baptized.
Matthew 3:13–17
Immersion in water
Baptism
A picture of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. An obedient response to the gospel.
Baptism Is . . .
- Immersion in water. (Acts 8:26-40)
- Making a break from sin and beginning anew. (Acts 22:16)
- An obedient response to the good news. (Acts 2:35-38)
- An act that initiates one into fellowship. (Acts 2:36-41)
- Picture of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. (Romans 6:1-6)
Baptism Is Not . . .
- A guarantee of heaven; without faith and repentance, baptism is just getting wet. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- Proof that you’ve changed your life; actions are the “proof” God expects of us. (Galatians 5:16-26)
Why Baptism . . .
- Because Christ commanded it. (Matthew 28:18-20)
- To express a clean conscience before God. (1 Peter 3:21)
Who Should Be Baptized . . .
- Those who hear the gospel. (Romans 10:17)
- Those who Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior. (Mark 16:16)
- Those who Repent of personal sins. (Acts 2:38-39)
- Those who Confess Jesus Christ as Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
